The country house Rodrigo de Vivar Resorts and Country is set in two classical Italian country buildings within the splendid Prince Aldobrandini's estate, an area of natural beauty, in Latium, 24 kilometers from Rome. The country house consists of a medieval 'Borgo' which is steeped in history and has had some famous visitors including Picasso and Chagall and a country house which is located in a peaceful area behind the Ostia Antica excavations. The 14 guestrooms are individually decorated in a classical Italian style with antique furnishings and details such as Murano chandeliers and original Persian carpets. All rooms are air conditioned and include coffee and tea making facilities, toiletries, video recorders and satellite television.
Numerous courses are on offer at the country house, if booked in advance. These include horse riding for adults and children, archery, painting, design, restoration, ceramics and lessons in cooking traditional cuisine. There are also guided tours to the Ostia Antica excavations, and walks and excursions including nature walks focusing on the animal and plant life of the Roman Country. The country house also has a newspaper and periodical library, bookstore and video store and Internet access is available on request. Both the medieval borgo and the country house are well placed for exploration of Prince Aldobrandini's estate, with the excavations, superb countryside, old castle of Giulio II della Rovere, Tiber River and the sea all within 3 kilometers. Rome Fiumicino Airport is approximately 10 minutes driving time and distance of 4 kilometers (2.5 miles).
